We are a system-driven builder — not a fully custom shop. That means we start with two proven, engineered vans (the Scout and the Loft) and let you configure the systems, finishes, and features within that structure. This approach delivers faster build times, consistent quality, and more predictable pricing than starting from a blank slate every time. You get a highly personalized van without the complexity and cost of fully custom work.

Every layout price includes: rear sleeping platform, gear garage (Scout) or electric lift bed with convertible lounge system (Loft), interior wall panels, insulated floor system, ceiling panels with integrated LED lighting, cabinetry system, and electrical pre-wiring. Not included in the base price: power system, water system, climate system, cooking appliances, and exterior upgrades — these are selected separately during your design consultation. The vehicle itself is also not included.
Yes — we do not supply the van. However, we work with trusted dealer relationships and can guide you through the process of sourcing the right platform. We support the Mercedes Sprinter, Ford Transit, and Ram ProMaster across both standard and extended wheelbase options. We'll help make the sourcing process as simple as possible.
Builds typically take 4–6 months depending on your configuration and add-ons. A standard Scout or Loft runs closer to 4 months. The Loft, pop-top, or builds with extensive exterior modifications run toward 6 months. We'll give you a realistic timeline during your design consultation and keep you updated with photos and video throughout.
A $10,000 deposit secures your spot in our build queue. This is applied toward the total cost of your build.

Yes. North-south sleeping is available as an upgrade on all platforms. For Sprinter vans, we also offer a Sprinter Flare System that widens the east-west sleeping area for improved comfort. Orientation is finalized during your design consultation based on your platform and priorities.

Yes. Every build uses 3D scanning, computer-aided design, and precision CNC cutting to ensure a perfect fit. This means every panel, cabinet, and component fits your exact vehicle — no gaps, no guesswork, and a cleaner end result than hand-built methods.
Absolutely. We encourage customers to stay involved. You'll receive regular photo and video updates throughout the build, and we welcome shop visits by appointment. We're located at 202 E Main St, Unit 1, Manasquan, NJ 08736.
Every delivery includes a comprehensive orientation — we walk you through every system in the van, including operation, seasonal maintenance, and any repairs you may need on the road. We want you leaving confident, not confused.

Big Ripper is our full-size slide-in truck camper — designed with the same obsessive craftsmanship as our campervan builds, but for your pickup truck. It installs into the truck bed and provides a complete living and sleeping space. Starting at $34,000.
Big Ripper is designed for full-size pickup trucks. We offer two sizes — 5'5" and 6'5" — to accommodate different truck bed lengths. We'll confirm your exact fitment during your consultation before any deposit is taken.
Yes. We recommend bringing your truck to our Manasquan, NJ facility for professional installation and final fitment. This ensures proper mounting, safety, and system integration. In some cases, remote installation may be possible — reach out to discuss your situation.
Yes. Like all our builds, the Big Ripper can be configured with semi-custom finishes, materials, and systems. Tell us your vision during your consultation and we'll work with you on the details.
The base price includes the camper structure, sleeping area, and standard interior. Additional systems such as power, water, and climate control are configured and priced separately during your consultation. The vehicle is not included.
If you already own a pickup truck and want to avoid the cost of purchasing a full van, the Big Ripper is a great way to get the Sequoia + Salt quality at a lower entry point. Campervans offer more interior living space and are self-contained — truck campers offer flexibility and off-road capability with your existing vehicle. They serve different lifestyles, and our team can help you decide which is right for you.

Yes — commercial builds are fully custom, not layout-driven like our campervans. Every commercial application is different depending on the agency, fleet size, vehicle type, and operational requirements. We work closely with each client to design a solution that fits their exact needs — from fleet van interiors to emergency services vehicles.
Commercial van builds start at $160,000, not including the vehicle. Pricing varies significantly based on vehicle type, number of units, system complexity, and application requirements. Yes — our vans are built for the road and can be taken throughout the US. We'll go over any restrictions or requirements during your orientation. The East Coast is your backyard, and beyond is even better.
Our team is reachable during your rental for any questions or issues. All vans are thoroughly inspected and tested before every rental. We'll walk you through troubleshooting basics at orientation so you're never stranded without a plan.
We typically have a minimum rental period — contact us for current availability and minimums. We offer both short weekend rentals and extended week+ trips depending on fleet availability.

Sequoia + Salt was founded by Chris and Sara — two people who chose a nomadic lifestyle and spent months living in a campervan before turning that obsession into a business. Every van we build is informed by that lived experience. We're based in Manasquan, NJ and have been building since 2020.

Our builds are designed for durability and long-term use — from the materials and systems we choose to the 3D precision construction that ensures everything fits perfectly for years. That said, full-time van life comes with lifestyle adjustments — our team is happy to talk through what that looks like during your consultation.
